This ongoing series People in Scout Photos explores how changing the subject of a photo changes the story it tells. The original subject of each of these photos was the space. The narrow, logistical intent of the photo is to give a director a sense of a potential filming location. After several years, the people in these images, once merely part of the background, are recast side-by-side as characters telling living, breathing stories of life in a quickly changing New York.
